Save The 100 Club! SUPPORT THE CAUSE!
Some worrying news we’ve just picked up on is that a London venue close to our heart (we used to run a short-film night there) is being forced to close due to extortionate rents in Central London. the 100 club has been home to icons of the music industry over the last 50+ years. It’s a piece of history in its own right and really should have been listed by now as a cultural hub of British music. Check out the list of acts who’ve played there.
A few years ago before Cannes in a Van, we used to do a film night called ShallowShorts100. It was the inspiration behind taking a ton of films to Cannes and screening them lo-fi, from our Ford Transit. We don’t want the place to close… but it seems like there isn’t much time. The 100 Club’s owner, Jeff Horton says it will be no more come Xmas. They supported us when we wanted to screen independent film… now we’d like to support them.
